CoServ Charitable Foundation Grant Helps Keep Bus Running

The CoServ Charitable Foundation recently donated an $11,200.00 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Denton County. The grant will be used to offset the costs associated with the purchase, maintenance and fuel of a 65-passenger school bus the Club purchased in late fall of 2007.

"We are thrilled that CoServ has provided the grant and it came at the perfect time," stated Chief Professional Officer, Babs Troutman. "With having to take the unexpected expenditure out of our planned operating expenses, it has stretched our ability to keep the Club open and continue to serve the segment of the community assisted by the Boys & Girls Club."

"The Board knew when the bus was purchased it would put a strain on the organization's finances but without it, local kids would be denied access to the Club. Local youth used to walk to the Club but when the Lake Dallas Elementary School closed and the students were moved to Shady Shores Elementary, they could no longer walk to the Club," said Ms. Troutman.

"CoServ has supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Denton County with a previous grant to purchase one of the Club's two 15-passenger vans. We are pleased CoServ is always ready, willing and able to help local children. They continue to be a member of our team of sponsors, and we are proud to display the CoServ logo on two of our vehicles," stated Troutman.

Since its inception in 2004, the CoServ Charitable Foundation has donated more than $1.4 million to 73 organizations in 27 communities. The Foundation was created as a direct result of two parallel driving forces - the establishment of Operation Roundup®, a cooperative initiative to improve the quality of life for residents within our communities, and by a desire among CoServ's employees to be more directly involved in how CoServ gives back to the community. The majority of their funding comes from their members and customers, and from employee payroll donations, fundraisers and raffles.
